Your Questions About Tattoo Designs 500

William asks…
Can anyone give me a idea of how much a tattoo similar to this might cost?
Its a sublime thing, and I really like the design, so I was thinking of getting a tattoo similar to this one, I am going to draw it up myself and redesign it a little bit, its not going to be as big, maybe 8-10 inches tall.
How much might it cost me? I might just outline it first, then go back and get shadowing and finishing touches done, maybe some color.
Any Idea of the Cost? 600? 400-500 for the outline maybe?

That is a link to the picture!

Vanessa answers:
In what country??????
In Australia, it would cost about $100 – $200 for the outline alone.
Generaly speaking in Australia you pay $100- $150 per hour, and that looks like one hours work or there abouts.

Michael asks…
How much tattoo can you get for..?
Now, I know the type of response here is usually “go in for a consultation” etc etc, but I cannot make it in for another three weeks, and I would like to draw up my own design in the meantime.
The place offers half sleeves for 700 $, and full sleeves for 1500
If I were to get something on my chest, roughly how big do you think I could get for sub 500$..?

Vanessa answers:
My advice is to not go in with a price limit. You need to design the tattoo you want and then save until you can get it exactly as you picture it in your head.

Steven asks…
Tattoo tip? How much is right?
So the total work will be about 500 – 520…all original design…what would be a good tip?

Vanessa answers:
Around 20% is standard
that’s around $100… You could add or subtract depending on quality of service

Sharon asks…
What do you think of this tattoo?

The only variation I would make is maybe put in a a thin branch that both of the birds would be sitting on.

Vanessa answers:
Well I must say that you have good taste. I like the idea of putting branches underneth them but they also look ok without them. I think maybe making the red in their cheeks a little darker and adding more black/grey shadding into it to make it look more lifelike. I would consider also putting it on another part of you body, or if you do want it on your back then you might want to make it a little smaller. Remember that tattoos are for life and you should put a lot of thought into it before you get it. As you get older the ink will fade and you will need to get it done over (traced over with new ink) and when you are older it might shrink and become blobs (so don’t make them too small). I hope this helps

Daniel asks…
Discreet yet pretty place for tattoo?
It’s nearing my 18th birthday as my dad is taking me to have a tattoo done. I’ve found the design, which you can see here. http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_liacs9g7s71qc2jq8o1_500.jpg
I’m wanting the flower to be between 8cm-10cm tall, and for the seedlings and birds to flow out of it like the photo shows.
I’m struggling to think of a place where i can have it, and it look pretty. I’d also like to be able to see it myself, so i’m not too sure about my back.
I’ve thought about on the side on my hip, and the trail flowing onto my stomach, any thoughts?

Vanessa answers:
Start at your hip and work it down to your inner thigh. That would be a sexy placement.
